Frequently Asked Questions

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Technical:

What is the difference between a copper bracelet and a magnetic bracelet?

Sabona Copper is a natural anti-inflammatory, therefore it can help relieve pain often associated with rheumatism and arthritis, as well as helping with general aches and pains.

Magnets are believed to help with general circulation, thereby helping the body get more of the nutrients it needs from the blood.

What is the concept behind minus-ions, found in Sabona Athletic bracelets and Pro-Magnetic Sports bracelets?

Minus-ions (negative-ions) are odourless, tasteless and invisible molecules that we inhale in abundance in certain environments. Once they reach our bloodstream, negative-ions are believed to produce biochemical reactions that increase levels of the mood-boosting chemical serotonin.

Practical:

How long should I wear my Sabona bracelet?

It’s best to wear the bracelet constantly. Wearers report that the products provide them the most benefit when worn all the time, even at night or when washing.

How often do I need to replace my Sabona Copper Wristband?

It’s generally best to replace your copper wristband approximately every two to three years. This is because the copper in the bracelet will slowly wear away.

How do I clean my Sabona bracelet?

Use a good quality jewellery cleaning cloth to keep the outside polished and the inside clean. You can purchase cleaning cloths from us along with your bracelet for an extra £1.00 per cloth. Clean the underside of the bracelet every one to two weeks to avoid a build-up of dirt and grime which can cause a skin irritation if it blocks the pores. Do not use any abrasive material on the surface of the bracelet as this can damage the look, especially if the bracelet is plated. Instead, buff gently with the cleaning cloth.

Can I wear my Sabona in the shower or while swimming?

We recommend that you don’t wear the Sabona Athletic Bracelets while showering or swimming as they are largely made of fabric and therefore not waterproof. All other Sabona bracelets are fine to expose to water.

Will the bracelet turn my wrist green?

Any bracelet that contains copper will leave a green/black mark on the wrist, caused by the copper residue. This is harmless and is a sign that the copper is being transferred to your body. This natural reaction can easily be cleaned off the skin with warm soapy water. Magnetic bracelets do not cause discolouration.

Which bracelet is best – a copper bracelet or a plated bracelet?

There is no difference in effect between the copper, silver-plated or gold-plated bracelet, as all three are solid copper bracelets. The plating is on the outside surface only – for decorative effect – so the copper is still visible and active on the underside.

Health:

When will my bracelet start to work?

Copper, magnetic and minus-ion therapies are unproven in the scientific world, so we cannot claim that the product will work for you. Everybody is different, but some customers report that they feel benefits within a few days, others within a couple of weeks.

Is it safe to wear a Sabona bracelet?

Copper bracelets:

Sabona Copper Bracelets are entirely natural and will not cause any adverse side effects. In some rare cases people are allergic to copper – if this happens remove the bracelet immediately and cease wearing. (Symptoms of allergic reaction).

Magnetic bracelets:

DO NOT WEAR ANY MAGNETIC PRODUCTS IF YOU HAVE AN ELECTRICAL IMPLANT SUCH AS A PACEMAKER OR IF YOU ARE PREGNANT. If you are in any doubt as to how this may affect a medical condition, please contact your doctor for advice.

DO NOT WEAR A MAGNETIC BRACELET NEXT TO A WATCH.

WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT WEAR SABONA SUPPORT GARMENTS OVERNIGHT AS THEY MAY RESTRICT BLOOD FLOW.

WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT USE OUR SABONA REVIVING OIL IF YOU ARE PREGNANT.
