Finding Your Size

SABONA Copper Bracelets are made from high-quality copper and designed to fit comfortably around the wrist. For the best fit, subtract approximately 1/2" to 3/4" from your wrist measurement to determine the appropriate size. The bracelet should be snug, but not tight. If you are between sizes, we recommend choosing the smaller size.

Copper Care

Copper naturally reacts with moisture, oils and other substances on the skin and may develop discolouration or a green residue over time. This is a natural characteristic of copper and can usually be removed with soap and water or lemon juice. To keep your SABONA bracelet looking its best, use a good jewellery cleaning cloth to polish the outside and keep the inside clean.

Why Choose a
SABONA Copper Bracelet?

More than jewellery — discover the natural properties, wellness heritage and timeless appeal of copper.

For generations, copper bracelets have been worn not only for their distinctive beauty but also for their traditional association with joint comfort, health and wellbeing.

At SABONA, we bring together this longstanding tradition with refined craftsmanship and timeless design. Our copper bracelets celebrate a remarkable natural material that has fascinated people throughout history.

Why Copper?

Copper is an essential trace mineral involved in several important biological processes. It contributes to normal energy metabolism, connective tissue maintenance, iron transport, nervous system function and the body's antioxidant defence systems.

Beyond its nutritional importance, copper possesses distinctive physical properties, including excellent thermal and electrical conductivity and natural antimicrobial activity. These characteristics have made copper a valued material in both traditional craftsmanship and modern science.

Copper bracelets have also been associated with personal wellness practices for generations, particularly among people interested in traditional approaches to joint comfort and everyday wellbeing.

Copper, Inflammation and Joint Health

Copper and Its Biological Role

Copper plays an important role in maintaining normal connective tissues and supporting antioxidant defence through copper-dependent enzymes.

These biological functions have encouraged scientific interest in the relationship between copper metabolism, oxidative stress, inflammation and joint health.

Research into Copper and Inflammation

The relationship between copper and inflammation has been studied for decades. Scientific research has explored the anti-inflammatory potential of certain copper-containing compounds and the complex involvement of copper in inflammatory processes.

Researchers have also investigated copper metabolism in relation to rheumatoid arthritis, reflecting continuing scientific interest in this essential mineral and its role in human health.

A Tradition of Joint Comfort

Copper bracelets have a longstanding history among people seeking traditional approaches to joint comfort, particularly those interested in arthritis, rheumatism and everyday stiffness.

Today, many people continue to choose copper bracelets as part of their personal wellness traditions, appreciating the connection between copper's natural characteristics and its historical use.

The Natural Properties of Copper

Natural Antimicrobial Properties

Copper is widely recognised for its natural antimicrobial activity. Scientific studies have demonstrated that copper and certain copper alloys can reduce the survival of various microorganisms on their surfaces under controlled conditions.

This remarkable material property is one reason copper continues to attract interest in scientific research and a wide range of practical applications.

Electrical and Thermal Conductivity

Copper is an excellent conductor of both electricity and heat, making it one of the most widely used metals in electrical and electronic applications.

These distinctive physical characteristics demonstrate the versatility of copper and contribute to its enduring reputation as a remarkable natural material.

Natural Beauty and Character

Copper is appreciated for its naturally warm colour, distinctive appearance and ability to develop a unique character over time.

Its versatility allows SABONA to create a wide range of designs, from classic polished copper cuffs to sophisticated silver-plated and gold-plated bracelets.

How did copper bracelet brands come about in the world?

It started with a French couple who first branded copper bracelets made of pure copper in 1959.

The French couple, who were nobles and actresses, discovered during their frequent travels to Africa that copper jewelry worn by indigenous people was not only used for decoration, but also for its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. After confirming the scientific evidence of copper's antibacterial properties for infection prevention and faster recovery, they established the world's first brand of copper bracelets made of pure copper.
